Overview

The NDT Technician performs non-destructive testing on aircraft sheet metal components using various methods. The role involves interpreting inspection results, documenting findings, and supporting other technicians, requiring specific certifications but not necessarily prior experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive testing on aircraft sheet metal components using FPI, Radiographic, and Digital X-Ray methods.
  • Interpret inspection results and document findings.
  • Follow NDT procedures and customer specifications.
  • Support other NDT technicians.

Requirements

  • FPI, Radiographic, and Digital X-Ray certification required.
  • Required certification/training hours; years of experience not required.
  • Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and manufacturing plans.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T and shop math.
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to perform and document NDT inspections accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of welding and forming processes.
  • Must follow safety, quality, and NDT procedures.
  • Ability to work under supervision and assist NDT Technician 1.
