As a Machine Operator- Black Oxide, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by ensuring the precise application of black oxide coatings to metal components, enhancing durability and corrosion resistance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain black oxide equipment and machinery in accordance with safety and operational guidelines.
• Prepare metal components for the black oxide process by cleaning, degreasing, and performing necessary pretreatment steps.
• Monitor the black oxide process to achieve precise coating thickness and color consistency, ensuring that parts meet quality standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of coated components for defects, and perform any necessary touch-ups or rework as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of processing parameters, inspection results, and inventory levels.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment issues or process inefficiencies to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One (1) to three (3) years of experience as a Black Oxide Operator or a similar role in a metal manufacturing environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Familiarity with black oxide processes, chemical composition, and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality‐conscious mindset.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and problem‐solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy objects when necessary.
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekend shifts as production demands.
• Technical certification in metal finishing or related field is preferred.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.) is preferred.
• Knowledge of different metal alloys and their unique black oxide requirements is preferred.

• Work schedule is Monday - Thursday, 6:00pm - 4:30am.
