Job Description

Overview

We seek an experienced forklift technician with 3+ years' experience in a shop or field setting. This position involves diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, or overhauling mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment used in construction.

Responsibilities

  • Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoist and hand tools.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a forklift technician or automotive technician in a dealership setting.
  • Troubleshooting skills to determine causes of operating errors.
  • Equipment maintenance skills to perform routine maintenance.
  • Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed for the job.
  • Installation skills for equipment, machines, wiring, or programs.
  • Operating monitoring skills to ensure machines are working properly.
  • Problem sensitivity to recognize when something is wrong.
  • Information ordering skills to arrange actions according to specific rules.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate or assemble objects.
  • Near vision to see details at close range.
  • Multi-limb coordination to coordinate limbs while performing tasks.
  • Control precision to adjust machine controls accurately.
