Overview

WEG is one of the largest electric machine manufacturers in the world, employing over 40,000 people globally. They are seeking a Welder to join their team, offering competitive compensation and excellent benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate MIG welding machines, adjusting machine and wire feed as required.
  • Weld on 16 gauge to 10-gauge mild steel, attaching accessories and fittings or seam welding on parts.
  • Work from layout marks and simple drawings.
  • Use scale, square, and power tools.
  • Assemble and tack weld repetitive jobs, finish weld, and tack welded assemblies, usually in down and/or vertical position.
  • Operate grinder to clean and shape weld.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional checks of own work.
  • Support WEG's 5S program to maintain a neat and organized work area.
  • Notify supervisor of material shortages or other concerns.
  • Work safely in required PPE to manufacture high-quality transformer components.

Requirements

  • Prior welding experience.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work evening or night shift.
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend common vocabulary.
  • Must be able to calculate basic math, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, plans, layouts, and/or templates.
  • Candidates must complete an application, welding knowledge & skill assessments, talent assessment, interview, drug and background screening.
  • Safety Sensitive position: Drug panel includes THC.
  • Resides within a reasonable commuting distance of Washington MO.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis; visa sponsorship is not available.
