Overview

The Welder Fabricator is a skilled member of the manufacturing team responsible for precision welding in wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions, impacting the independence and quality of life for customers. The role requires technical expertise, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work with various materials and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for the welding part of the manufacturing process.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications as directed.
  • Operate MIG welder, grinder, reciprocating saw, and cut-off wheel.
  • Bend and shape pipes of various materials and sizes with precision.
  • Maintain equipment, inspect for performance and safety concerns, and perform troubleshooting as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with quality and safety standards, policies, and OSHA regulations.
  • Read wiring schematics and diagrams and follow written and verbal work instructions.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on welding experience, ideally in automotive manufacturing or a related field.
  • Proficiency with welding machine operation, including regulating current and voltage for proper metal fusion.
  • Ability to read and fabricate from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical sketches.
  • Pre-inspection skills and attention to quality.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
