Overview

The ETCH Processor Trainee position at Mistras Group, Inc. involves training to perform various etching processes under the guidance of experienced processors. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to internal procedures and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Complete procedural training in pre-cleaning, etching, passivation, and testing methods.
  • Conduct daily system checks, including rinse water pH checks.
  • Follow masking requirements and racking techniques.
  • Draw representative bath/solution for analysis.
  • Prepare monthly metallurgical samples for analysis.
  • Operate waste treatment processes.
  • Handle, preserve, protect, and package parts.
  • Review work orders, inspection techniques, purchase orders, and quality records.
  • Adhere to general department safety requirements.
  • Establish daily etch rates using the weight loss method.
  • Control solution activity and maintain tanks.
  • Receive safety training and Hazwoper & Emergency Response certification.
  • Work under the guidance of Class 1 Processors and be supervised by Class 2 or 3 Processors.

Requirements

  • Must be able to follow instructions.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess integrity and good work habits.
  • Willingness to learn new skills is essential.
  • Class 1 Processor candidates require a minimum of 160 hours of documented training.
  • Class 2 Processor candidates need at least 320 hours of documented training as a Class 1.
  • Class 3 Processor candidates must have a minimum of 640 hours of documented training as a Class 2.
  • Must pass Mistras Etch Qualification/Certification Examinations.
