Overview

The Maintenance Technician position involves providing maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and the team. Candidates should have experience with various machinery and systems, as well as a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on plant and house equipment.
  • Assist with knowledge on Linkers, stuffers, choppers, mixers, conveyors, and packaging machines.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures to resolve issues.
  • Educate, develop, and motivate current and new maintenance employees.
  • Monitor and maintain plant utilities, low pressure steam boilers, wastewater, and fire suppression systems.
  • Assist outside contractors with repairs or scheduled PM.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance using CMMS software.
  • Respond immediately to breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Follow safety policies and uphold company standards.

Requirements

  • Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred; High School Diploma with experience considered.
  • At least 5 years of maintenance background.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems; Mpulse is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical experience with packaging and production equipment.
  • Familiarity with welding and safe usage of tools and shop equipment.
  • Experience with PM programs using CMMS software.
  • Ability to walk, sit, climb, and lift for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with refrigeration and HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Must have own toolbox and basic hand tools.
  • Willingness to work Saturdays and occasionally Sundays.

Additional Information

  • Full-time position on 2nd shift (Monday-Saturday).
  • 8-12 hour shifts as needed.
