Overview

The Pipefitter/Welder position involves welding in various positions and working with different materials while also planning, installing, and repairing piping systems according to specifications. Candidates are expected to adhere to safety protocols and assist in team efforts to achieve company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Weld in all positions using stick, tig, mig, and Flux Core.
  • Work with carbon steel, stainless, and exotic materials.
  • Layout, install, and repair all types of pipe or similar tubular products.
  • Plan, layout, install, test, and repair piping systems including relief valves.
  • Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, weld, and install pipes.
  • Utilize various pipe fitting techniques and methods.
  • Follow job site safety regulations and maintain a clean work area.
  • Read and understand isometric and orthographic drawings.
  • Participate in audits, investigations, and quality efforts.
  • Complete all required safety training programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 10 years of pipefitter/welder experience or completion of a 5-year apprenticeship is required.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Effective oral, written, and computer communication skills.
  • Knowledge of gaskets and wrench to bolt sizes.
  • Ability to climb and work at elevated heights.
  • Must be able to work overtime and respond to callouts.

What you'll be running

It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
