Overview

Design Mechanical is a Comfort Systems USA Company with locations in Colorado, including a corporate office and a fabrication shop. They are looking for a Welder/Pipefitter to ensure safety, quality, and profitability in mechanical construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety management to achieve zero incidents.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values.
  • Safely set up, use, and disassemble electric welding equipment.
  • Safely set up, use, and disassemble oxy-acet cutting and welding equipment.
  • Safely set up, use, and disassemble plasma arc cutting equipment.
  • Weld and cut components in various positions using different tools and methods.
  • Heat, form, and dress metal parts using hand tools and welding equipment.
  • Develop templates and work aids to hold and align parts.
  • Layout, mark, and cut pipe and structural steel using various cutting tools.
  • Fit up, tack, and weld piping and structural components according to specifications.
  • Pass x-ray, di-penetrant, and visual weld tests as required.
  • Determine required equipment and welding methods for conformance to specifications.
  • Apply knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
  • Read and understand mechanical blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Install or repair industry-related equipment.
  • Develop material handling plans for project completion.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pipefitting Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Pass Welder Performance Qualification Tests for Certification.
  • High integrity and ethics.
  • 6+ years of welding/pipefitting experience, preferably in the mechanical industry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and solve problems.
  • Very organized and detail-oriented.
  • Denver Journeyman Steamfitter Certificate preferred.
  • Valid Driver License.
