Overview

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is seeking a Pipe General Foreman for a jobsite in Baytown, TX. OPD specializes in engineering and construction services within the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries, offering a comprehensive range of capabilities to enhance project efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of pipefitting, tools, procedures, and best practices.
  • Lead multiple foremen and crews effectively.
  • Assign job tasks to foremen and ensure proper training.
  • Serve as a safety role model for the team.
  • Enforce OPD and client-specific safety policies and procedures.
  • Anticipate and report potential safety and environmental concerns.
  • Provide records of work completed to the OPD superintendent.
  • Communicate material requirements and schedule NDE for welding with the OPD Superintendent.
  • Plan and schedule pipe installation sequences.
  • Verify all materials are onsite and ready for installation.
  • Ensure pipe design meets client specifications.
  • Order spools and materials from the laydown yard.
  • Coordinate with other area General Foremen on planning and installation.
  • Write and submit RFIs requested by area foremen.
  • Communicate with QC regarding weld changes and NDE requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a general foreman.
  • Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment.
  • Experience leading teams of 40-50 people.
  • Must be a role model for safety.
  • Willingness to travel with extended periods away from home.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Willingness to attend and/or lead employee safety meetings.
  • Ability to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week.
  • Must meet all physical demands of the job.
