Overview

The Production Worker position at Sonoco involves working in a fast-paced production environment in the tube and core division. The role requires collaboration with various teams, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
  • Thinking on your feet and troubleshooting problems and situations
  • Making incremental process adjustments and monitoring product quality
  • Learning to set up new jobs and train on other lines and departments
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager
  • Supporting Sonoco's quality and safety policies
  • Helping out other departments as needed
  • Using downtime for cleaning and organizing

Requirements

  • At least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Previous Forklift Certification and safe operation of a forklift
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of products and their quality requirements
  • Reliability, initiative, commitment, and quality focus
  • Ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
  • Ability to perform repetitive duties, including going up and down stairs and standing for long periods
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining craftsmanship and attention to detail

Additional Information

  • Location: Irving, TX
  • Pay: $21.88/hr
  • Shifts Available: 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday-Friday and 3rd shift from 8 pm to 6:30 am Monday through Thursday with a shift differential of $1.00
