Overview

Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR) is hiring a skilled Welder and Fabricator for their 2nd shift operations in Garner, NC. This full-time position involves performing various welding tasks in a tough, outdoor scrap yard environment to support equipment maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Perform SMAW/stick welding to fabricate and repair metal structures and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine welding requirements.
  • Inspect completed welds for structural soundness and quality.
  • Assist with general equipment maintenance and repairs when welding is not required.
  • Maintain a safe work area and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of SMAW/stick welding experience (required).
  • Experience in shredder or heavy equipment maintenance is a plus.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must pass welding test and supply your own face shield.

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM | Weekends as needed.
