Overview

KPFF Consulting Engineers is seeking a full-time Bridge Designer with 4-6 years of structural engineering experience for their Greater Los Angeles Structural office. The role involves working on diverse infrastructure projects, including bridges and waterfront infrastructure, while fostering a collaborative team culture focused on professional growth and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Work on structural design for various public and private infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with team members across all levels of the organization.
  • Prepare structural engineering documents and specifications.
  • Engage dynamically with clients and project team members.
  • Participate in social events, educational programs, and technical training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of structural design experience.
  • PE license in the State of California or ability to obtain reciprocity.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • M.S. in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • EIT certification is required.
  • Experience in bridge design.
  • Coursework or design experience in concrete, steel, and timber.
  • Familiarity with performance-based seismic design and soil-structure interaction analysis.
  • Knowledge of AASHTO, ASCE7, ASCE61-14, IBC, AISC, ACI, and NDS.
  • Proficiency in SAP2000, L-Pile, CSI Bridge, MS Excel, and VBA preferred.

Additional Information

  • 40-hour work schedule, Monday through Friday.
  • Flexible scheduling with core hours of collaboration from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Hybrid schedule of 2 days per week in the office may be accommodated after training.
