Overview

nVent is looking for a Fabrication Operator for the 2nd shift to perform functions necessary to fabricate electrical and electronic enclosures. The company is committed to providing inventive electrical solutions that ensure a more secure world.

Responsibilities

  • Learn, teach, and interact with all functions necessary to support the fabrication team.
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Notify the team leader of any problems concerning equipment, operations, or materials.
  • Perform set-up duties according to production documentation.
  • Position production materials and tooling according to print specifications.
  • Perform operations in accordance with production documentation.
  • Select and move production materials as required.
  • Maintain production equipment and materials necessary for operations.
  • Meet established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Ensure products meet nVent's quality specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory balance using a computer.
  • Perform rotational assignments including grinding, forming, welding, and other duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing fabrication experience.
  • Knowledge in manufacturing practices.
  • Knowledge in metal fabrication.
  • Skill to utilize various welding equipment.
  • Experience with resistance spot welders, Tig spot guns, and stud welding equipment.
  • Experience with press brake and NC controller.
  • Ability to use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and lift tables.
  • Knowledge of safety equipment including safety glasses and hearing protection.
