Overview

East Central College is seeking a part-time Instructional Program Assistant for its Welding department. The role involves supporting laboratory set-up and demonstrations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, organize, and maintain laboratory materials, equipment, supplies, and related resources.
  • Review laboratory exercises and demonstrations to determine feasibility and recommend modifications.
  • Schedule preparation and set-up of laboratory exercises based on instructors’ syllabi.
  • Maintain the laboratory storage facility and an orderly storage area.
  • Store and dispose of hazardous wastes safely and legally.
  • Assist in maintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Prepare, receive, unpack, and store apparatus, supplies, and special equipment.
  • Consult instructor about making minor repairs and coordinate repairs with outside agencies.
  • Assist faculty in supervising students in the laboratory and document their progress.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities according to established practices and standards.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Welding or related field.
  • One year of related experience required.

Additional Information

  • Part-time position not to exceed 19.75 hours per week.
  • East Central College is located about 60 minutes from St. Louis.
