Overview

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Machinist/Fabricator for the 2nd shift to work onsite in East Hartford, CT. The role involves machining, fabricating, and finishing turbine engine parts, contributing to the transformation of flight technology.

Responsibilities

  • Work from operation sheets, drawings, computer generated information, and verbal instructions.
  • Obtain specified equipment, tools and gages to machine, fabricate and finish a variety of production turbine engine parts.
  • Perform bench assembly and finishing operations as assigned using a variety of handheld tools, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Perform braze fabrication operations such as assembly, sizing, application of braze paste, tape or powder and resistance tack welding.
  • Perform light and water checks on brazed honeycomb assemblies and reoperate parts which have been rejected.
  • Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions.
  • Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description.
  • May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months manufacturing/industrial/aerospace experience.
