Overview

Trailer Bridge is seeking a motivated Trailer Welder / Mechanic to join their Maintenance team. This role focuses on welding, fabrication, and structural repairs on trailers, ensuring equipment safety and reliability while meeting customer service needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding, fabrication, and structural repairs on trailers, chassis, and containers.
• Cut, grind, clean, and prepare metal surfaces for welding and fabrication.
• Inspect equipment for structural damage, cracks, and corrosion.
• Fabricate, fit, and install replacement metal components as needed.
• Perform general trailer and container repairs, including lights, mud flaps, and tires.
• Clean containers and prepare equipment for repair.
• Assist with mechanical repairs involving electrical, brake, and air systems.
• Access areas of equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance.
• Complete repair orders and attendance records accurately and timely.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with safety requirements.
• Maintain proficiency with equipment and welding techniques.
• Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Model the TB12 Core Values of a TB team member.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of welding experience required.
• Experience with MIG welding required.
• Ability to cut, grind, fit, fabricate, and weld metal components.
• Knowledge of trailer repairs, including electrical and brake systems preferred.
• Ability to identify structural damage and determine appropriate repairs.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical activity, including lifting up to 100 lbs.
• Experience with reefer containers or refrigerated trailer equipment is a plus.
• Experience performing PMs on gensets is a plus.
• Welding certification preferred.
• Must provide own hand and air tools.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
