Job Description

Overview

The Technician 1 - Power position in Chicago, IL, is focused on performing maintenance and repairs on power generators and HVAC equipment. The role is available to military-affiliated job seekers and requires a high school diploma and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations.
  • Set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites, either independently or with other technicians.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements and reading schematics.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card based on customer requirements.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to move or lift objects typically less than 75 lbs.
