Overview

The Maintenance Technician I position at Barry Callebaut is responsible for supporting and maintaining equipment to ensure the production of high-quality products while adhering to GMP practices, HACCP, and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance of Barry Callebaut operations.
• Support production by ensuring the safe and proper operation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment.
• Be flexible to cover assigned shifts and willing to cover other shifts when needed.
• Ensure proper documentation of repairs, listing parts, record keeping, and following the workflow process.
• Assist in training new employees in production and maintenance when required.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
• Participate in safety-related training programs.
• Perform duties with or without close supervision.
• Coordinate and complete projects, occasionally with outside vendors.
• Fabricate parts and perform welding on equipment.
• Generate, complete, and close work orders using a computerized maintenance management system.
• Communicate with supervisor for direction and to inform about problems and equipment malfunctions.
• Perform established PM and corrective activities and identify new opportunities for improvement.
• Follow all GMP, HACCP, and safety regulations and guidelines.
• Conduct general facility maintenance including plumbing and painting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience working in a manufacturing site.
• Knowledge of maintenance areas including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Math, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required.
• Proficient in using a computer, including MS Office.
• Ability to stand on a concrete floor for long periods.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 60lbs frequently.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
