Overview

Integrated Power Services is seeking an Electric Motor and Gearbox Mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, test, and maintain electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, and related rotating equipment in industrial and commercial applications. Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, diagnose, and repair AC/DC electric motors.
• Repair gearboxes and speed reducers.
• Repair pumps and rotating equipment.
• Replace bearings, seals, shafts, and couplings.
• Perform mechanical rebuilds and overhauls on industrial equipment.
• Measure and inspect components using precision tools.
• Perform shaft alignment and coupling installation.
• Conduct vibration and mechanical inspections.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and OEM manuals.
• Operate shop equipment including hydraulic presses and lathes.
• Assist with motor testing, gearbox testing, and troubleshooting.
• Document repair findings and complete service reports.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Support field service activities and on-site repairs as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical/trade school training in industrial maintenance or electromechanical technology preferred.
• 3+ years of experience repairing industrial electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, or rotating equipment preferred.
• Experience in an industrial service shop environment is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment and power transmission systems.
• Ability to safely use precision measurement tools.
• Ability to read mechanical schematics and repair documentation.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with heavy industrial equipment.
• Ability to work in shop and field environment.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools daily.
