Overview

The Maintenance A position involves performing various maintenance tasks on buildings, utilities, and machinery to support the company's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed maintenance work on buildings, utilities, equipment, machinery, and grounds.
  • Work from verbal and written instructions, blueprints, machinery layouts, and sketches.
  • Install and maintain gas, water, steam, and air lines.
  • Have knowledge and skills to install or move machinery and equipment.
  • Use equipment such as scaffolds, cranes, hoists, fork trucks, and scissor lifts.
  • Perform masonry, painting, plumbing, welding, carpentry, and minor electrical work.
  • Have working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Assemble, install, and maintain air piping and hosing, including fittings and manifolds.
  • May work independently and/or direct the work of other maintenance classifications.
  • Set up and operate metal working equipment such as press brakes, lasers, drills, and saws.
  • Maintain and repair a wide range of tools, air infrastructure, air compressors, and machinery.
  • Experience maintaining generators and boilers is a plus.
  • Use care and judgment to protect oneself and others from hazards.
  • Recommend, maintain, and perform equipment preventative maintenance and spare parts inventory.
  • Set up and operate all equipment within the department or area.
  • Train operators on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Advise Supervisor of irregularities in the operation.
  • Work closely with department personnel to reduce costs and improve operations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass Modine welding test, acetylene and arc weld test, and maintenance test covering job requirements.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
