Overview

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic position at International Paper involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for plant equipment. The company is a leader in sustainable packaging solutions and values employee well-being and inclusivity.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, replace, and install plant mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as conveyors, presses, and stackers.
  • Read and understand mechanical prints, AC/DC motors, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install mechanical components and various types of equipment.
  • Fabricate equipment using welding techniques to meet desired needs.
  • Identify and locate unusual sounds indicating potential trouble in equipment.
  • Dismantle equipment to access defective parts.

Requirements

  • 5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various types of measurement equipment.
  • Ability to examine and determine the degree of wear on parts and repair or replace as needed.
  • Skilled in operating metal, woodworking, and hand tools safely.
  • Excellent attendance and safety record.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and flexible hours including weekends.
  • Computer skills to work in SAP for notifications and work orders.
  • Basic tools required.

  • Location: Grand Prairie Container, 1200 W. Carrier Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
  • Shifts: 7am - 3pm, 3pm - 11pm, 11pm - 7am, rotating weekends off.
