Overview

Veolia in North America is a leading environmental company and the largest private water operator in the U.S. The Maintenance Technician I at the Water Treatment Plant performs maintenance services, installations, and repairs across various skill areas.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and preventative maintenance on machines and related equipment.
  • Learns to inspect and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Dismantles equipment to repair defective parts using various tools.
  • Performs facility maintenance and repairs including replacing light bulbs and damaged fixtures.
  • Cleans equipment, facilities, and grounds as required.
  • Operates vehicles for plant operational purposes.
  • Learns to estimate time and material costs for projects.
  • May assist in other areas of the plant as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Six months to two years of experience in a related position.
  • Experience using power, pneumatic, hydraulic, and hand tools preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills.
  • Some vocational training and mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Must have the ability to operate Computer Maintenance Management System software.
  • Minimum water/wastewater license as required by regulatory agency at site.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • HAZWOPER Level I and II First Responder Certification if required by site.

  • Spends 100% of the time in the operations environment.
  • Typically spends 25 - 35% of time exposed to outdoor and sometimes inclement weather.
