Overview

Veolia in North America is a leading environmental company and the largest private water operator in the U.S. The Maintenance Technician I at the Water Treatment Plant performs maintenance services, installations, and repairs across various skill areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machines and related equipment.
  • Report operational problems with machines or equipment to Lead or Supervisor.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Dismantle equipment to access and repair defective parts using tools.
  • Reassemble and test equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform facility maintenance and repair tasks including replacing light bulbs and installing doors.
  • Clean equipment, facilities, and grounds as required.
  • Operate vehicles for plant operational purposes.
  • Estimate time and material costs for various projects.
  • Assist in other areas of the plant as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Six months to two years of experience in a related position.
  • Experience using power, pneumatic, hydraulic, and hand tools preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions.
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills.
  • Some vocational training and mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Ability to operate Computer Maintenance Management System software.
  • Minimum water/wastewater license as required by regulatory agency.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • HAZWOPER Level I and II First Responder Certification if required.
  • Training in operation of mechanical drives, hydraulic pumps, and control systems.

  • Spends 100% of the time in the operations environment.
  • May serve rotational 24-hour emergency on call.
