Overview

The Experienced Welder at Grassland is responsible for welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance work on equipment and structural components in a food-grade manufacturing facility, emphasizing safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Follow and comply with good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance practices.
• Perform MIG and TIG welding for repairs, fabrication, and equipment modifications.
• Perform basic setup and maintenance on weld machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
• Fabricate, modify, install, polish, and repair equipment, piping, platforms, guards, and other components.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and polishing of sanitary purge welding in food-grade manufacturing.
• Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and operational requirements are met.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work practices appropriate for a food-grade manufacturing environment.
• Ensure welding, grinding, and fabrication activities do not create contamination or foreign-material risks.
• Manufacture projects per Grassland’s specifications.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable food safety and cGMP requirements.
• Properly use and maintain welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, hand tools, and other assigned equipment.
• Assist maintenance personnel and other departments with equipment repairs and projects as needed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, operators, and other team members regarding equipment issues and completed work.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and materials.
• Follow required lockout/tagout, hot work, PPE, and other safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
