The Aerospace Component Fabricator role involves welding, assembly, and inspection of aerospace components in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the company's mission of enabling engineering breakthroughs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for loading into furnace, including wiping and final cleaning as necessary.
• Evaluate load configuration and load on racks or grids for economical batch size.
• Manufacture load thermocouples.
• Complete moderate to advanced fitting and welding tasks while applying standard practices.
• Successfully complete the Exotic Metals TIG weld training program or have equivalent experience.
• Obtain and hold required Exotic Metals weld qualifications/certifications.
• Perform drilling, reaming, countersinking, and riveting to assemble sheet metal sub-assemblies.
• Use hand and power tools to scribe, grind, deburr, size, and fit sheet metal parts.
• Perform spot-welding, seam-welding, poke tacking and braze preparation.
• Perform repairs such as weld defects and assembly anomalies.
• Operate manufacturing machinery associated with typical aerospace processes.
• Check required dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools.
• Ensure dimensions and finishes meet required tolerances and standards.
• Maintain certifications and stamps as Quality Assurance Inspector.
• Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, and drawings.
• Document inspection findings accurately.
• May train others on prior job experience.
• Work under limited oversight and meet operations standards for efficiency.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of how to produce quality parts.
• Use mathematics relevant to functions.
• Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
• Evaluate own area, processes, part quality, and standards for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Ability to grow into performing a variety of operations including welding, assembly, and inspection.
• Aptitude in a minimum of one skill set with capability to grow into others.
• Successful completion of Exotic Metals TIG weld training program or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain and hold required Exotic Metals weld qualifications/certifications.
• Knowledge of using hand and power tools for various tasks.
• Ability to interpret and follow written instructions and technical documents.
• Mathematical skills relevant to functions.
