Job Description

Overview

The Manufacturing Technician III at Klein Tools is responsible for operating and monitoring multi-axis CNC equipment, troubleshooting machine issues, and ensuring product quality. The role emphasizes curiosity, ownership, and teamwork in a company known for its innovation and quality in tool manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust multi-axis CNC milling/grinding/lathe equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues by diagnosing breakdowns and replacing defective components.
  • Run production jobs per written or verbal work instructions to produce quality parts.
  • Inspect products for quality using measuring tools and record findings.
  • Read work orders and blueprints to ensure accurate machine setup and product quality.
  • Perform offsets and adjustments to machine settings as necessary.
  • Conduct machine set ups including changing fixtures and loading programs.
  • Perform general machine maintenance such as cleaning and checking oil and coolant levels.
  • Report production counts, scrap, and labor hours accurately.
  • Comply with 6S standards and participate in lean manufacturing activities.
  • Cross-train by rotating to different machines and work areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of related experience is required.
  • CNC certification or metalworking/tooling certification preferred.
  • Knowledge in operating CNC, milling, or grinding machines preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to learn, problem-solve, and make decisions per work instructions.
  • Ability to communicate and work as a team member.
  • Ability to obtain a Klein provided crane certification may be required.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed by the company is required.
