Overview

Robinson Helicopter Company (RHC), founded in 1973 and located in Torrance, California, is a leading manufacturer of civil helicopters. They are seeking experienced CNC Machinists for their second shift to contribute to the manufacturing of helicopter parts.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines including lathes, mills, grinders, waterjets, and laser cutters.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to set up machines accurately.
  • Monitor the machining process to ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and report production issues to the lead and manufacturing manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an apprenticeship in machining is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC machinist or operator, with familiarity of CNC programming preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in reading technical documents and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues during the machining process.
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra.
  • Capability of using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, dial bores, thread gauges, and basic measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and surface finishes related to blueprint requirements.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

  • The position is for the 2nd shift operation and includes an 8% shift premium.
