Job Description

Overview

North American Construction Services, Ltd. is hiring a permanent, full-time Pipe Fitter / Pipe Welder to join their team in Pinson/Birmingham, AL. The company specializes in innovative engineering, fabrication, and construction in the field of industrial thermal processes, offering fully-integrated, turnkey solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, align, and secure pipes, fittings, and fixtures using hand tools and welding equipment according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Accurately measure, cut, and thread pipes using various cutting tools and machinery.
  • Weld, braze, solder, and cement joints to connect pipes and related components.
  • Conduct pressure and leakage tests to ensure the integrity of installed piping systems.
  • Work closely with construction teams, project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Perform maintenance and repair work on existing piping systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational or technical training in pipefitting or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications, such as welding certifications, are advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a pipefitter with a strong understanding of pipe systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of welding processes and techniques applicable to pipefitting.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time.
