Overview

The Fitter/Welder Level IV position involves supervising a crew, reading blueprints, and ensuring production goals are met while maintaining safety and quality standards. The role requires strong welding skills and the ability to solve problems effectively in a fabrication shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints.
  • Supervise a crew and complete jobs from start to finish without direct supervision.
  • Expedite parts throughout the plant to meet production goals.
  • Solve obstacles related to the job being run.
  • Take ownership of meeting customer and schedule requirements.
  • Exemplify principles of unity, trust, honesty, integrity, creativity, and self-reliance.

Requirements

  • High School education or GED preferred.
  • Four years of shop or field welding experience.
  • Ability to read all weld symbols on a blueprint.
  • Knowledge of different materials such as channel, angle, flat bar, square tube, and pipe.
  • Pass basic plate weld test in four out of five specified weld processes.
  • Ability to calculate arc length, circumference, bolt circles, chord length, and flat pattern.
  • Must work well in a team environment and listen effectively.
  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance and safety record.
