Overview

The Union Fire Sprinkler Fitter position involves performing repairs and installations associated with fire sprinkler systems and other water-based equipment. This role is supported by a union and is focused on creating efficient and safe environments through technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and installation associated with fire sprinkler systems and other water-based equipment.
• Install, repair, and maintain wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow preventers, fire hydrants, underground and fire pumps.
• Complete required documentation, including repair recommendations.
• Assist management with quoting repairs and tenant improvements.
• Follow and maintain highly structured schedules.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all work performed.
• Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site.
• Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and assist with training.
• Work overtime when needed.
• Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain vehicle stock, tools, and equipment.
• Follow corporate policies related to vehicle use and care.

Requirements

• Willing to become or a member of the UA Local Union.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working with fire sprinkler systems.
• Certified training.
• High school diploma or state-recognized GED.
• Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.
• Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
• Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to customers.
• Verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Must have good customer-facing and customer service skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
• On-call rotation.
• Train apprentices on proper installation technique.
