Overview

MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $2 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for various industrial facilities. The Structural Welder will be responsible for joining metal components using multiple welding processes while adhering to safety requirements and site specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, weld symbols, and other written instructions.
  • Follow project specifications and Quality Control program documents.
  • Perform various types of welds based on project needs.
  • Field install welds including structural and pipe work.
  • Select proper fillers for welding tasks.
  • Prepare welding surfaces to achieve proper joint detail.
  • Assist pipe fitters and help prep materials for welding and installation.
  • Work with other crafts as requested by project supervision.
  • Communicate with Foreman regarding problems, materials, or hazards.
  • Work different shifts and overtime as required.
  • Maintain accuracy in work and perform duties safely.
  • Other duties as assigned by Leadman, Foreman, or Superintendent.

Requirements

  • 4+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy.
  • Physical stamina to perform hard physical work in varying temperatures.
