Job Description
Overview
The Structural Welder position at the Pipe Fabrication Shop in Port Allen, LA requires applicants to be skilled in MIG/Fluxcore welding and to pass welding tests. The role involves interpreting weld maps, identifying materials, and working under the direction of a foreman.
Responsibilities
- Interpret weld maps and procedures.
- Identify material types and weld pipe spools.
- Read and sign off on JSA prior to starting shift.
- Pass required welding tests with MIG and Fluxcore.
- Grind tacks with pneumatic grinders.
- Assist in setting up and taking down pipe spools.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of experience in welding.
- Pre-employment qualification test if applicable.
- Required welding tests.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
- Hazard Communication orientation/test.
- Turner Industries Group Indoctrination.
- OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87).
- Job site orientation and PPE requirements.
