Job Description

Overview

Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. (BakerRisk) is seeking an entry-level Blast Resistant Structural Engineer for their San Antonio or Houston office. The role involves evaluating and designing structures exposed to extreme loading conditions to protect people in hazardous environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specific tasks as assigned by project managers of limited scope.
  • Conduct nonlinear blast response analysis.
  • Develop detailed structural designs and design concepts.
  • Prepare design specifications.
  • Support research and accident investigations.
  • Develop and review structural drawings.
  • Review numerical calculations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 0 to 5 years of experience or strong interest in structural design.
  • Knowledge of structural engineering principles.
  • Experience with structural drawing packages.
  • Willingness to travel 25%-30% of the time.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
