Overview

Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. (BakerRisk) is seeking a Senior Blast Resistant Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership on complex structural engineering projects involving blast-resistant design and protective structures. The position is available in San Antonio or Houston and offers opportunities to work on significant projects for various clients while contributing to the growth of BakerRisk's technical capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on complex structural engineering projects.
  • Independently execute routine and complex structural engineering projects.
  • Exercise independent engineering judgment in evaluating technical challenges.
  • Manage projects requiring scope development, resource planning, and client communication.
  • Promote BakerRisk’s capabilities to clients and develop proposals.
  • Support the development of large and/or complex proposals.
  • Work with junior engineers and provide guidance on assigned tasks.
  • Assign and outline work for junior engineers.
  • Conduct nonlinear blast response analysis and detailed structural design.
  • Prepare design specifications and review structural drawings.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil/Structural Engineering (MS preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in structural design, dynamics, evaluation, or forensic engineering.
  • Ability to independently execute structural engineering projects.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Willingness to travel 25%-30% of the time.
