Overview

The Sheet Metal Detailer position at ACCO Engineered Systems involves modeling and coordinating projects using advanced technologies and industry best practices to ensure high quality and efficiency. ACCO is a leading mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems since 1934.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform all functions of the Sheet Metal Detailer efforts on assigned projects.
  • Streamline layout/routing, reduce fitting usage, and identify design flaws.
  • Recognize opportunities for efficiency gains and risk reduction.
  • Read and extract information from contract documents effectively.
  • Utilize 3D Revit and 3D CAD modeling for project coordination.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings and collaborate with the BIM Coordination team.
  • Create layout point files for Trimble and Topcon.
  • Assist detailers on various project aspects as needed.
  • Maintain constant communication with the ACCO Project management team.
  • Post models to client FTP sites and maintain logs.
  • Represent ACCO’s culture and values professionally.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related field experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in Sheet Metal trades.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Fabrication, Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Autodesk BIM 360 Glue, and Autodesk BIM 360 Docs.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam Revu, BOX, and Smartsheet.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace: Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Forms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, and international building codes.

Additional Information

  • This is a non-exempt position with workdays scheduled from Monday through Friday.
  • Work hours typically begin and end between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.
  • Occasional overtime may be necessary.
  • Travel is 0 - 5% of the time to regional branch offices.
  • Potential relocation to main or satellite office locations.
