Job Description

Overview

RINA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Onshore Structures Engineering Department, focusing on clients in the chemical, petrochemical, and industrial sectors. This role offers flexibility to work from various US offices or remotely from other locations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute advanced structural engineering tasks, ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance.
  • Support the development of engineering deliverables such as calculation reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Contribute to problem-solving during design and construction phases with technically sound solutions.
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance to junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Coordinate structural engineering tasks within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal Quality Management System and regulatory standards.
  • Review technical documentation for accuracy and adherence to applicable codes.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, and contractors on technical aspects of structural work.
  • Support site inspections and construction-phase engineering services.
  • Assist in resolving structural issues during construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering or related fields.
  • Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license; other Professional Engineering licenses are a plus.
  • Experience with structural design, analysis, and project management.
  • Expertise in designing and analyzing structural elements for safety and reliability.
  • Proficiency in structural calculations using industry-standard software.
  • Thorough understanding of construction materials and their strengths.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Collaborative working style with a solution-driven mindset.
  • Ability to manage and assign tasks in multi-disciplinary project teams.
