Overview

The Structural Assembly Fitter-Welder position involves hands-on fabrication of structural tubing and components at the Pevely, MO facility. The role requires translating drawings into accurate layouts and assembling parts into finished products, emphasizing quality and independence in the work process.

Responsibilities

  • Translate drawings and measurements into accurate layouts and assemblies.
  • Fit and assemble structural tubing and fabricated parts from individual cut pieces.
  • Join multiple subassemblies into complete structures per the print.
  • Align, square, and clamp components before and during welding to maintain accuracy.
  • Perform welding operations required to complete the build.
  • Check dimensions, confirm tolerances, and make corrections as needed.
  • Work independently from prints with minimal supervision.
  • Keep tools, materials, and work area organized and safe.

Requirements

  • Proven background in welding and/or metal fabrication.
  • Hands-on experience fitting and assembling structural or fabricated components.
  • Ability to confidently read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and tape measurements.
  • Solid shop math and measurement skills.
  • Talent for visualizing how separate parts become a complete assembly.
  • Knowledge of fit-up, alignment, and maintaining squareness.
  • Comfort working with structural tubing and similar materials.
  • Pride in quality, without relying on repetitive, single-weld production work.

  • Compensation: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience.
