Overview

Upper River Services is seeking a Welder to join their team, offering a full benefit package and a competitive wage. This position involves working with equipment and tools to prep, weld, and repair barges in various outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and use equipment and tools necessary to prep, weld, and repair barges.
  • Assist with barge cleaning as directed.
  • Handle lines and rigging to moor barges to docks and other barges.
  • Visually inspect tanks for excess water.
  • Operate pumps to remove excess water from tanks.
  • Operate Company equipment.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in stick and wire feed welding preferred.
  • Ability to weld in overhead, flat, and/or vertical locations preferred.
  • Must be able to work well independently or as part of a team.

Additional Information

  • Starting pay ranges from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour.
  • Eight hour days, Monday - Friday.
  • Occasional daily overtime and weekend work required.
  • Must work outside in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Duties occasionally performed indoors and in confined spaces.
  • Working on barge decks, barge covers, and in the cargo hold.
