Spherion Connellsville is working to fill Welder positions in Uniontown, Pa. The Pay Rate is $21.50 . This is a temp to perm position.

Job Description:

The ability to work as part of an integrated team and be self motivated is highly recommended. The qualified candidate will demonstrate effective customer relations, active listening skills and excellent verbal communication skills. Flexibility to work overtime is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Weld metal parts, use mig, tig and stick welding to build and repair heavy steel parts for mining machine
  • Read Blue Prints
  • Check welds to make sure they are strong, clean and free of defects.
  • Safely operate grinders, plasma cutters and other metal working tools.
  • Follow all safety rules, keep your work area clean, and wear required safety gear.Education: High School
  • Must have high school diploma
  • Technical Diploma or certification in WeldingExperience: 36 months

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Stick work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
