Job Description
Overview
The Welder position involves setting up and operating welding equipment to meet quality and productivity standards. The role requires reading blueprints, inspecting parts, and performing repairs while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate welding equipment as required by drawings.
- Weld parts using various welding processes.
- Ensure soundness of weld joints and maintain proper dimensions.
- Read blueprints and handle materials and tools.
- Inspect parts or completed units using various inspection equipment.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Perform assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.
- Ensure company tools are stored properly after use.
- Assist quality in testing and other efforts as required.
- Conduct rope winding as necessary.
- Maintain acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
- Perform other assigned duties as instructed by supervision.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform essential duties safely and satisfactorily.
- Sherman & Reilly Weld Certification and AWS Specification D1.1. 94 and D1.3 89 required.
- High school diploma or general education degree required.
- 6 months' experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving root cause and corrective action analysis.
