Responsibilities

  • Must be reliable and work well with others.
  • Must be willing to learn and advance individual skills.
  • Follow instructions given by supervisor quickly and efficiently with minimum supervision.
  • Provide basic hand tools and equipment needed to build, weld, and inspect your work.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and rough drafts.
  • Able to build and weld details and parts to close tolerances.
  • Be able to weld Aluminum, Stainless, Tool steels, Hot and cold rolled steels.
  • Perform brazing, silver soldering, cutting, normalizing, heat treating, and other gas welding skills.
  • Proficient in Mig (GMAW), Tig (TGAW), and Arc welding skills.
  • Build jigs and fixtures for welding setups.
  • Able to perform other shop duties required by the company.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
