Overview

The Welder - 2nd Shift position involves setting up welding equipment, performing inspections, and ensuring quality control in a manufacturing environment. Candidates should have mechanical skills and experience in welding, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Check with department supervisor on machine assignment and job assignment.
• Discuss with current welder from preceding shift about machine performance and difficulties.
• Set-up welding equipment according to specified procedures.
• Fabricate welding jigs when necessary.
• Create inspection checklist for first-time jobs.
• Conduct and document a first-piece inspection and obtain approval from Quality Control.
• Perform adjustments on machines and/or programs based on first-piece inspection results.
• Weld parts manually or robotically according to specifications.
• Unload and package parts according to EIMCo standards.
• Complete accurate daily records for every job worked on.
• Follow instructions from EIMCo documentation.
• Inform quality control and supervisors of any problems with parts.
• Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided.
• Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner.
• Conduct all tasks in a safe manner and comply with EIMCo Safety Policies.
• Maintain all required documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• General skills with hand and power tools.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask on a wide variety of projects.
• Mechanical skills background required.
• One to two years of welding experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
