Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on production machinery to enhance equipment reliability and glove quality as part of the maintenance team.

Responsibilities

  • Work on vertical baggers, cartoners, ink jet printers, and packaging equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of bulk flour systems including transfer blowers and airlocks.
  • Service industrial ovens, proofers, conveyors, and dryers.
  • Complete daily log reports and communicate with incoming shifts.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Work on low voltage and 120-480vac equipment including motors and sensors.
  • Install, debug, and stabilize plant equipment as required.
  • Read schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Repair and upgrade machinery and equipment for proper operation.
  • Support installations and acceptance of new electromechanical equipment.
  • Repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies.
  • Test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using test instruments.
  • Fabricate guards using measuring devices and welding tools.
  • Read and interpret HMI panels to troubleshoot production line faults.
  • Install electronic parts and hardware using soldering equipment.
  • Operate, test, and maintain robotic equipment.
  • Assist in production and maintenance related assignments as needed.
  • Communicate issues and problem solve with production staff.
  • Perform electrical and distribution lock out/tag out methods.
  • Ensure compliance with electro and mechanical safety requirements.
  • Participate in overtime assignments as required.
  • Provide on-call coverage as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Maintenance Technology or equivalent education and experience.
  • 1-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance jargon and best practices.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA, and production needs.
  • Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 55 lbs.
