Overview

Hempel, a world-leading supplier of trusted coating solutions, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician I to join their Dallas team. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability of production equipment and maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow Standard Work Instructions provided for the assigned department.
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Repair and rebuild all production equipment as needed.
• Work with production personnel to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Maintain ongoing relationships according to Hempel’s standards.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools.
• Control downtime by coordinating with production Supervisors and leads.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories.
• Work in confined spaces using required PPE and following safety rules.
• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Perform LOTO (Lock out tag out) and ensure safe repairs on all equipment.
• Reference SDS (MSDS) when working around different chemicals.
• Report all safety and environmental concerns.
• Assist in emergencies as maintenance personnel are considered essential staff.
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

• Ability to learn and follow safety rules and regulations.
• Basic understanding of OSHA safety practices; OSHA 10-Hour a plus.
• Entry-level experience or exposure to electrical and mechanical systems preferred.
• Willingness to learn industrial manufacturing processes.
• Basic knowledge of multimeters and measuring tools.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic understanding of mechanical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
• Team oriented with a positive, safety-focused attitude.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical coursework or certifications preferred.
• Experience with confined space entries preferred.
