Overview

This position is responsible for daily operations and maintenance of wind turbines, requiring extensive travel throughout the US. The ideal candidate must have a safety-first attitude and an understanding of performing the job correctly the first time.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
  • Climb multiple wind towers on a daily basis
  • Professionally interact with customers and coworkers daily
  • Demonstrate safety as a top priority
  • Install, inspect, maintain, operate and repair wind turbines
  • Diagnose and fix problems that could cause turbine shutdowns or operational failures
  • Climb towers to inspect, troubleshoot, or repair turbine equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance on wind turbines
  • Test electrical components and systems, as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical malfunctions
  • Service underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems
  • Replace worn or malfunctioning components
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess an active Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) or have the ability to obtain one
  • Technical 2 or 4-year degree or certificate in wind energy or related preferred
  • Minimum two years' experience working in and around wind turbines for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, or one year experience with a degree or certificate
  • Ability to demonstrate basic industrial safety practices/protocols including LOTO
  • Experience using basic power and hydraulic tools
  • Valid Driver's License (CDL Preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution
  • Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with Internet-based program navigation
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand basic drawings and schematics
