Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement activities on production equipment and facility systems. Candidates must have hands-on experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and/or injection molding equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive working environment while meeting established productivity goals and performance standards.
  • Maintain maintenance work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and injection molding equipment.
  • Assist senior technicians with complex repairs while following established maintenance procedures and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with maintenance team members to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
  • Remain actively engaged on the production floor providing hands-on troubleshooting and equipment support.
  • Communicate unresolved issues and equipment status to incoming shifts during shift handoff.
  • Complete maintenance work orders, logs, and all required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Utilize established procedures for inventory control, spare parts management, and equipment maintenance records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school, trade certification, or related maintenance training preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Must have experience troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems OR experience maintaining injection molding machines and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. regularly and stand, walk, bend, and work on the production floor for extended periods.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical controls, motors, sensors, relays, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and write English and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, repair manuals, charts, and schedules.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and respect in all interactions.
  • Lead by example and support the development of fellow team members.
