Overview

We are looking for a skilled Metal Fabricator / Mechanic to help bring automation systems, theatrical sets, and museum exhibits to life through hands-on work that combines craftsmanship and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Custom metal fabrication for automation systems, theatrical scenery, and museum exhibits.
  • Mechanical assemblies that make things move, including motors, bearings, shafts, linkages, and drive components.
  • Building one-of-a-kind parts, prototypes, and finished assemblies from blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Fitting, testing, troubleshooting, and refining projects as they come together.
  • Collaborating with designers, project leads, and fellow builders to solve practical challenges.

Requirements

  • Solid fabrication skills including layout, cutting, drilling, grinding, fitting, and finishing metal parts.
  • Experience setting up and operating a press brake, drill press, and manual mill.
  • Ability to produce strong, consistent welds and select appropriate welding approaches.
  • Capability to interpret drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Mechanical aptitude to understand how components fit and work together.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring measurements, fit, and finish are accurate.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
