Overview

The Sr Fabricator, Non-Pwr GSE is responsible for disassembling, repairing, and assembling non-powered Ground Support Equipment (GSE) using welding and fabrication skills. The role involves performing diagnostic testing, troubleshooting equipment issues, and guiding other fabricators while ensuring safety and proper maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, repair, and assemble non-powered Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Use hand torches, welding, and fabrication skills to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Document and record safety-related issues for managerial inspection.
  • Guide and support Fabricators in performance of duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Four (4) years welding or fabricator type experience.
  • Knowledge of the use and operation of basic tools.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of welder and torcher.
  • Knowledge of hot works procedures.
  • Ability to read and use blueprints, drawings, and shop manuals.
  • Proficient skills in operating a personal computer.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

  • Possession of basic set of automotive hand tools including metric sizes.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver any weight above 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work without supervision for extended time periods.
  • Must be able to work in noisy, non air-conditioned/heated work area.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Must be willing to work any shift.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in state of residence.
  • Non-Covered Safety Sensitive position.
