Overview

The UH60 Aircraft Mechanic I is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various aircraft systems and components, ensuring the safety and functionality of the UH60 aircraft. This role requires a valid A&P license or significant aviation maintenance experience, with a focus on rotary wing aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
• Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures and functional components using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
• Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical data to determine repair methods.
• Performs various inspections including 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, and periodic inspections.
• Inspects and tests engine operation using testing equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components such as carburetors and alternators.
• Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories.
• Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
• Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft and enters maintenance records.
• May service engines and airframe components at line station.
• May specialize in work, repair, and modification of structural and functional spare parts.

Requirements

• Valid up-to-date A&P license or three years aviation maintenance experience.
• Two years rotary wing aircraft experience and two years on the assigned MDS (UH60).
• All experience must be within the last six years.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• Must possess own shadowed/etched tools and toolbox.
• Good communication skills and adaptability.
• Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and associated systems principles.
• Knowledge of Quality Control, Production, and Supply procedures.
• Skill in reading, applying, and interpreting technical data.
